Spikes hoping for that elusive playoff appearance
Don't think a certain Chargers inside linebacker hasn't noticed the 49ers' 5-1 start? Takeo Spikes spent the last three seasons in San Francisco, and out of the playoffs. Ravens cautious not to look past Jaguars
The path ahead has opened up favorably for the Baltimore Ravens.Overcoming injuries and avoiding potholes in the form of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets, the Ravens sit atop the AFC North with a 4-1 record and are a half-game behind the New England Patriots 5-1.The Ravens' early success prompted one reporter to ask coach John Harbaugh in the aftermath of Sunday's 29-14 Ray Lewis Jersey victory over the Houston Texans about the importance of securing home-field advantage for the playoffs.We have a long way to go before that comes up, he said.As positive as the outlook has unfolded James Starks Jersey for the Ravens, Harbaugh insisted that their focus extends no further than their next game, a visit with the Jacksonville Jaguars 1-5.Our guys will be looking ahead to Monday night. Houston's only touchdown of the first half occurred when left guard Wade Smith pounced on a fumble created by Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb in the end zone in the second quarter.The outlook didn't look great in the first half, as Schaub was masterful on third down, converting five of 10 opportunities to keep the Texans within a field goal of the Ravens.It wasn't until the second half that the Ravens defense brought the hammer down.
